The migration tool we provide migrates all your data to WorkDrive while preserving all share settings (internal and external), folder structures, and version history of files.
As a Zoho One paid user, how can I migrate from Docs to WorkDrive?
If you are the super admin, go to your Docs Admin Console and do the migration. If you are a member, contact your super admin regarding the migration.
As a Zoho Workplace user, how can I migrate from Docs to WorkDrive?
If you are the Workplace super admin, go to your Zoho Mail Control Panel and do the migration. If you are a member, contact your super admin regarding the migration.
Why does the Premium plan of Docs offer a storage of 1TB per user at $6.4, but the Business plan of WorkDrive offer a storage of only 5TB per team for up to 10 users at $8 per user and an additional 500 GB per new user?
Zoho WorkDrive is for your modern team, and you will pay only for what you use. In Docs, if storage space of a user is full, that user won't be able to upload files until you buy additional storage space or clear up the space by removing the trash or unwanted files.
With WorkDrive's shared storage, your team storage will be optimally used by members who need it the most without affecting others in your team. This way, the varying storage requirement of each of your team members is addressed at no extra cost.
Will Writer, Sheet, and Show files be migrated?
Writer, Sheet, and Show files will be migrated from Docs to WorkDrive. After migration, any new files you create using these Editor services will be stored within WorkDrive.
Can't I migrate files from Docs Desktop Sync to WorkDrive Desktop Sync?
Using the Desktop sync apps, you can only migrate non-native files to WorkDrive, i.e. files that weren't created using Zoho Office Suite with following extensions: .zdoc, .zsheet, and .zslide.
If you have Zoho editor files (.zdoc, .zsheet, .zslide) in Zoho Docs, when you upload or sync them to WorkDrive, they will not be accessible. This is because they are link files, and can be accessed only from the original source (Zoho Docs) where they were created. You need to download these files manually to the computer to get them as docx, xlsx, and pptx files, and then upload or sync them to Zoho WorkDrive.
Also, you'll lose the share settings and version history of your files.
So, DO NOT migrate files manually from Docs Desktop Sync to WorkDrive Desktop Sync, and instead use our Migration Tool.
What will happen to the existing Zoho Docs users after April 15, 2023?
Existing users must migrate to WorkDrive before April 15, 2023. After this date, users can no longer access their Docs account.
What will happen to users and data in Docs after migration?
Once users and data in Docs are migrated to WorkDrive, users will not be able to access Docs, and data will no longer be available in Docs.
Does WorkDrive have a personal edition?
Yes, WorkDrive has a forever free individual plan. Check this link for details related to the individual plan. You can buy storage add-ons or upgrade to a team plan anytime if needed. Docs personal users can migrate to the individual plan in WorkDrive.
