Sending limits

ZeptoMail allows you to set email sending limits for each Mail Agent. This helps you control the volume of outgoing emails based on your specific requirements. 

You can set these limits either from within each Mail Agent or directly through the Email Limits section in your ZeptoMail account settings. 

How to set a limit

  1. Navigate to the Settings section of your ZeptoMail account.
  2. In the left pane, select Sending limits.
  3. Click Configure limit.

  4. Choose the Mail Agent for which you wish to set the limit.
  5. Enter the desired sending limit. Use only numeric values.

  6. Click Save to confirm your changes.

Note:

  • The limit you set automatically resets at 12AM(server time).
  • If the number of outgoing email exceeds the set limit:
    • For API users, the email will not be processed and you will receive a SM_151 error in your console.
    • For SMTP users, your email will be accepted by ZeptoMail servers, but will not be sent out to your recipients. The email will have a Process failed status.

Edit limits

You can modify the email limits at any point:

  1. In the Sending Limits section, click the Edit icon next to the relevant Mail Agent.

  2. Enter the new value.
  3. Click Save.

Analytics

Each Mail Agent includes a dedicated Analytics section to track outgoing emails and their delivery statuses over time. analytics

  • You can select a custom time range to filter the data.

  • Choose from different graph types: Line, Bar, or Table.

  • Use the Download button to export the report. Available formats:

    • CSV

Remove email limits

To remove an existing email limit: 

  1. Go to the Sending Limits section.
  2. Click the Delete icon next to the relevant Mail Agent.

  3. This will completely remove the sending limit for that Mail Agent.

Note:

Before you get started it is important to know that ZeptoMail is for sending transactional emails like welcome emailers, password resets emails, OTPs. We do not support sending of bulk emails or promotional emails like newsletters or marketing campaign emails. If you are looking for a bulk email provider, you can visit Zoho Campaigns.
