Configure Zoho Settings for Calendar Interoperability
After configuring the Exchange role account in your Exchange server, you need to set up the availability address space of Zoho Calendar in your Exchange server. This will allow the Exchange users to view the free/busy status of the Zoho Calendar users.
Set up Zoho users
You need to set up the availability of Zoho users for the Exchange users to look up. The following steps have to be noted while setting up the Zoho users:
- Each user should have a Zoho Calendar account.
- A mail contact should be created on the Exchange server. To create mail contacts on the Exchange server, read Exchange 2013, Exchange 2016, or Office 365. The emails sent to the mail contact address should be forwarded to the user’s Zoho mail address. The mail contact should be available on Exchange Global Address List. This helps the users to find the availability and set up meetings.
- If the Zoho user has his mailbox present in the Global Address List, you need to disable it.
Authorize Internet Connectivity for Zoho Calendar
An Internet connection is required for the Exchange server to communicate with the Zoho server. This connection requires an SSL certificate.
Create a Zoho role account
The next step to setting up the availability address space is to create a Zoho role account. Using this account, Zoho will create an availability address space in Exchange server through which the Exchange users will be able to view the free/busy status of the users on Zoho Calendar and communicate with them. The following points should be noted while creating a Zoho role account:
- The Zoho role account created here is only used for sharing the availability status to both users.
- Zoho Calendar should be enabled for this Zoho account.
Once the Zoho role account is created, note down the credentials to be entered in Zoho Settings in the Admin Console.
Configure availability address space in Zoho settings
After creating the Zoho role account, Zoho Calendar should be added as an availability address space in Exchange server. To set up the availability address space, you need to generate the PowerShell code in Zoho Settings by entering the Zoho credentials and Zoho server details that are to be added to Exchange.
To set up the availability address space
- Navigate to Zoho Settings in the Interoperability section of the Mail Admin Console.
- Enter the Zoho role account's Username and App-specific Password in the Zoho user credentials and click on Save.
- The user privilege is selected by default as Free/Busy which means that the users will be able to view each others’ available or not status.
- The availability address space is auto-generated when you save the username and password or you can enter the name of the Zoho server manually to set up the availability address space for Zoho on the Exchange server.
- Click on Show Exchange Setup.
- The PowerShell code is generated. You have to copy the PowerShell code and paste it into the Exchange Management Shell of the Exchange server to set up the availability address space.
Note:
- If there is an existing availability address space in the Exchange server, once you paste this PowerShell code in the Exchange Management Shell, the old address space will be replaced.
- Once you run the PowerShell code, the changes will take some time to reflect. If you want the changes to take effect immediately, you can restart the Exchange server.
